PulseBusta WARNINGS

European vehicles that do not have an electric brake controller fitted cannot be used to tow a trailer with electric brakes without a wiring modification.

Many European vehicles have two cross-wired park light, circuits and when the park lights are turned on one of the two circuits will activate the trailer’s electric brakes. When the park lights are turned off the trailer's brake solenoids are de-energised, which puts a very, very large pulse of energy from the collapse of their magnetic fields (back EMF) into both of the park light circuits. This will almost certainly damage the PulseBusta and may possibly damage the lighting controller in the vehicle. Modification – open the plug on the end of the trailer wire and disconnect the trailer’s electric brake wire (Blue for Australia). This will stop the brake solenoids from being activated/de-activated with the park lights. Do not forget to reconnect the trailer electric brake wire when finished towing.

Trailers with load resistors fitted – Do not connect a PulseBusta to a trailer with load resistors fitted as the load resistors may require more current than the PulseBusta can supply (max 4 amps). Please disconnect any load resistors on a trailer before connecting a PulseBusta . Do not forget to reconnect the load resistors when finished towing.

Horse floats – It has been found that some manufacturers use non-LED internal lights that are connected to the park light circuit. Please check the internal lights and to which circuit they are connected before connecting a PulseBusta . Non-LED internal lights can use too much power and will overload the PulseBusta (max 4 amps), which will void the PulseBusta warrantee. You will have to either replace them with LED lights or modify the wiring of the trailer and vehicle to supply an alternate power source for the internal lighting.

Trailer Brake LEDs pulsing – A new generation of 'high end', electric brake controllers is on the market that emit a stream of pulses to the trailer’s electric brake solenoids to ensure that they are connected and if there is a problem they will warn the driver. It has also been found that some trailer manufacturers have installed a diode from the electric brake wire to the brake LED wire which causes the brake LEDs to flash with those pulses. PulseBusta cannot stop this type of pulsing . To test this – with the ignition on and the trailer LEDs pulsing - open the plug on the end of the trailer cable and temporarily disconnect the trailer electric brake wire (blue in Australia). If the trailers brake LEDs cease blinking the trailer manufacturer will have to contacted to obtain the location of the diode in the trailer wiring harness so that it can be disconnected.

Technical Information

A brief history of Lamp Check – originally, applying a very low voltage and then monitoring the current through the lamps accomplished the cold lamp check function in the lighting system of vehicles and trailers. The very low voltage did not illuminate either incandescent lamps or LEDs. However, when LEDs were used with this type of lamp check system it was found necessary to introduce a low resistance in the lighting circuit to provide a sufficient current to keep ‘lamp failure’ warnings from being displayed in the vehicle. These low voltage cold filament monitoring system suffered from spurious ‘lamp failure’ warnings, which became more frequent as the electrical connections in the vehicles and between them and trailers aged and/or became contaminated.

The pulsed cold lamp check function was designed to significantly reduce the number of spurious ‘lamp failure’ warnings. However, owners and drivers of these vehicles have experienced problems with the operation of their external lighting when replacing incandescent lamps with LEDs and when connecting trailers that incorporate LED arrays in place of incandescent lamps. In operation lamp check, units of this type are continually emitting short pulses of near battery voltage on the wires to various lamps in the vehicles’ external lighting system and to the trailer lighting connector. The lamp check unit is ‘awake’, emitting pulses while the vehicle is being driven, and it may continue to remain ‘awake’ for some time after the vehicle has stopped and the ignition switched off. The filament of an incandescent lamp has a very low ‘off’ resistance and a voltage is applied a lamp filament can take between 120 and 250 milliseconds to emit light so the short voltage pulses from the lamp check unit (about 10 milliseconds) are not long enough for the filament to heat up sufficiently to emit light. LEDs and LED arrays have a high ‘off’ resistance and they emit light almost instantly thus they will illuminate with the short lamp check pulses.

PulseBusta Mk4 and PulseBusta Euro have sophisticated electronics to keep the lamp check pulses from getting through to the trailers turn, park and stop LED arrays. Both also incorporate low resistances so that the vehicle will not indicate lamp failures* when a trailer with LED arrays is connected. * When required please refer to DIY instructions for the connection of the park and stop load resistances.

The PulseBusta Euro is designed to comply with E/ECE/324 -E/ECE/TRANS/505 regulations and European trailer wiring standards. The PulseBusta Euro has extra monitoring circuitry for the trailer turn signal LED arrays, which is a legal requirement in the EU. Upon failure of the trailer turn signal LED array on one side the monitoring circuitry in the PulseBusta Euro will disconnect the low resistance for that side thus informing the lamp check control and the driver of the failure by turning off the tell-tale. It also has two separate park/license plate lighting circuits. A partially working or dead trailer turn signal LED array drawing less than about 50ma will cause the PulseBusta Euro to switch off the load resistor for that side which will indicate a failure of the LED array to the driver via the vehicle’s trailer tell-tale.

   

Busta4 - Fitting Instructions for internal 'trailer mounting'

PulseBusta MK4 is designed for use by all 12 volt negative earth towing vehicles (known to LAB Electronics at the time of writing) that have been built to European lighting regulations and which are towing trailers that have only one tail/licence plate lighting circuit and do not require monitoring of the trailer’s turn signal LEDs.  It will provide the vehicle with trailer recognition and when required, stop the trailer’s park, brake and turn signal LEDs from blinking.

Any vehicle (not just those built to the European lighting regulations) can tow a trailer which has a PulseBusta MK4 fitted.

PulseBusta MK4 is not to be fitted to a towing vehicle, as that vehicle will always recognise (falsely) that a trailer is connected.

Carefully read the instructions all the way through.  If you feel that you are unable to perform any of the operations, please seek the help of someone who can.  Refer to the ‘You will need’ list near the end and gather all the tools and materials to complete the installation before you proceed.

PulseBusta MK4 has a 600mm long (2ft) 7-core cable rated at 10 amps per wire.  It is connected to the trailer’s LEDs using its Yellow (left turn), Green (right turn), Red (brake light), Brown (park/license plate light) and White (earth) wires.  Each of the LED driver circuits is capable of driving up to 4 amps of LED current.  Do not connect any lamps (light bulbs) to the LED driver circuits on the trailer.  Print the plug and socket wiring page at the end.  Identify the uses and colours of the wires on your trailer and write them down on the plug and socket wiring page.  You may choose your connection method i.e. to solder the individual wires together, fit them into terminal blocks, crimp insulated terminals to the wires or crimp un-insulated terminals to the wires and fit them into plugs and sockets.

PulseBusta MK4 can get very HOT when in operation. (Do not restrict ventilation to the PulseBusta nor mount it on plastic or any other heat sensitive materials) Select a location to mount the PulseBusta with adequate ventilation, i.e. a large space under a bench seat, in the trailer electrical box or a similar uncluttered space.   

Disconnect the trailer from the vehicle and isolate any power sources in the trailer.

To the trailer LEDs - Fit the PulseBusta MK4 in the selected location and prepare to connect the lighting cable up to the trailer end of the PulseBusta MK4

Connect the earth wire in the trailer cable to the White wire from the PulseBusta MK4 and solder together. 
Connect the left turn signal wire in the trailer cable to the Yellow output wire from the PulseBusta MK4 and solder together.
Connect the right turn signal wire in the trailer cable to the Green output wire from the PulseBusta MK4 and solder together.
Connect the brake light wire in the trailer cable to the Red output wire from the PulseBusta MK4 and solder together.
Connect the tail/licence plate wire from the trailer to the Brown output wire from the PulseBusta MK4 and solder together.

To the vehicle end of the PulseBusta MK4 - Connect the lighting cable going to the vehicle plug end of the cable. 

Connect the earth wire in the trailer cable to the White wire to the PulseBusta MK4 and solder together. 
Connect the left turn signal wire in the trailer cable to the Yellow input wire to the PulseBusta MK4 and solder together.
Connect the right turn signal wire in the trailer cable to the Green input wire to the PulseBusta MK4 and solder together.
Connect the brake light wire in the trailer cable to the Red input wire to the PulseBusta MK4 and solder together.
Connect the tail/licence plate wire from the trailer to the Brown input wire to the PulseBusta MK4 and solder together.

You are left with two unconnected wires that go straight through the PulseBusta MK4 – Black and Blue.  If you do not need these wires, you may cut them back and leave them disconnected.  Otherwise, connect them to the remaining wires in your trailer cable for whatever uses they will have.

Testing the operation of the trailer LEDs

 

For testing the operation of the LEDs, move all the bare soldered connections apart and into positions where they do not contact each other or any metal parts of the trailer.  Reconnect any power sources in the trailer.  With the vehicle ignition and lights switched off, connect the trailer to the vehicle.  Switch the ignition on and check that any trailer LEDs that were previously blinking have stopped and the trailer telltale does now operate with the turn and hazard signals.  Start the engine, switch the park lights on and operate the foot brake to check the operation of those LEDs and check that there are no lamp failure warnings.  Refer to last page if there are.  When all trailer LEDs are working correctly switch everything off and separately insulate the bare solder connections. 

Insulate and seal the joins.

It is strongly recommended, to prevent liquid and dust entry into the cable ends, a small amount of silicone sealant be applied to all of the open ends of the cable outer sheaths.  Push the sealant into the ends around the wires using a small screwdriver (or similar tool).  It is recommended that an outer seal of self-amalgamating tape and/or heatshrink tape be placed over the joins to completely seal them.  Check that, where required, the cable is securely attached to the trailer.

Operational note

Always connect and disconnect the trailer with the vehicle’s ignition and lights switched off.  Connecting or disconnecting the trailer with the vehicle’s ignition and/or lights switched on can cause malfunctions to be indicated, or unintended operation by some of the vehicle’s computer systems.   

A trailer lamp failure warning appears in the vehicle when the park and stop lights are used.

As the lamp check modules in most vehicles do not have the functionality to check a trailers park and stop LED circuits the internal load resistors inside both the PulseBusta Mk4 and Euro have been fitted but are not connected.  These load resistors develop quite a bit of heat and waste power, and as in most cases, they are not required, they have been left unconnected. 

If you do receive a trailer lamp failure warning, you will have to carefully undo the cable gland tail and rubber seal, remove the two screws on the trailer end of the unit and access the three wires inside of the unit at that end.  If you feel that you cannot perform these operations, please locate someone that can.

On the trailer end of the unit undo the cable gland tail – Grip the 19mm (3/4in) body nut of the cable gland with a THIN spanner, so that it will not rotate on the end plate and break the silicone sealant seal.  Loosen the tail with another 19mm (3/4in) spanner.  Once loosened undo the tail completely by hand and slide it along the cable away from the body.

Remove the black silicone sealant from the two screw holes in the trailer end plate with a hobby knife or similar tool.  Remove the two screws from the end plate and check that the O-ring seals under the screw heads are still there.  To access the rubber seal carefully move the end plate a short distance along the cable then move the end plate back against the case of the unit, grasp the seal and slide it along the cable as far as you can away from the body.  Move the end plate along the cable as far as you can away from the body.  Check that the sealing gasket on the end plate is not damaged.

Fish out the three insulated wires with pre-stripped ends from inside the unit.  The White wire has an end cap fitted.  The Red and Black wires have plastic sleeves fitted over the bare wires at their ends.

The White wire is the earth wire.

The Black wire is for the park circuit load resistor(s) – one resistor for the Mk4 and two resistors for the Euro.

The Red wire is for the stop circuit load resistors – two resistors in all units.

If you have a lamp failure warning only on the trailers park circuit then connect the Black wire to the White wire.

If you have a lamp failure warning only on the trailers stop circuit then connect the Red wire to the White wire.

If you have a lamp failure warning on both the trailers park circuit and the stop circuit then connect all three wires together.

Un-screw the end cap from the White wire and remove the sleeve from the Red and/or Black wires, straighten the bared wire ends and twist the ends of the required wires together and screw the end cap from the White wire over them to terminate the required two or three wires you have twisted together.  If only two wires have been terminated leave the sleeve over the remaining unused wire, if all three wires have been terminated the plastic sleeves are no longer required, Please dispose thoughtfully.

Place a small amount of neutral cure silicone sealant around the surface of the end plate gasket and refit the end plate using the original screws.  (check that the O-rings under the screw heads are still fitted.)  Place a small amount of neutral cure silicone sealant (black) to cover the screw heads as they were originally sealed.  Slide the rubber seal along the cable and into the cable gland.  Hand tighten the tail onto the cable gland.  Use two 19mm (3/4in) spanners, one THIN one on the nut, to tighten the tail onto the gland without breaking the silicone sealant seal between the cable gland nut and end plate.

Select a location to mount the PulseBusta MK4 (preferably high and dry and with adequate ventilation) that is within reach of the existing lighting wiring of the trailer.  You may wish to redirect the existing trailer lighting cable to the PulseBusta MK4 mounting location you have chosen and then add a new cable from the PulseBusta MK4 to the vehicle. At the connection points, you will need to remove from both cable ends the minimum amount of outer sheath that is required to make all of the wiring connections. For a neater finish stagger cut the wires and remove only the minimum amount of insulation that is required to make the solder connections to the wires.

Disconnect the trailer from the vehicle and isolate any power sources in the trailer.

To the trailer LEDs - Fit the PulseBusta MK4 in the selected location and position the trailer’s existing lighting cable up to the trailer end of the PulseBusta MK4

Connect the earth wire in the trailer cable to the White wire from the PulseBusta MK4 and solder together. 
Connect the left turn signal wire in the trailer cable to the Yellow output wire from the PulseBusta MK4 and solder together.
Connect the right turn signal wire in the trailer cable to the Green output wire from the PulseBusta MK4 and solder together.
Connect the brake light wire in the trailer cable to the Red output wire from the PulseBusta MK4 and solder together.
Connect the tail/licence plate wire from the trailer to the Brown output wire from the PulseBusta MK4 and solder together.

To the vehicle end of the PulseBusta MK4 - When adding a new cable you will have to fit a trailer plug to the vehicle end of the new cable.

Connect the earth wire in the trailer cable to the White wire to the PulseBusta MK4 and solder together. 
Connect the left turn signal wire in the trailer cable to the Yellow input wire to the PulseBusta MK4 and solder together.
Connect the right turn signal wire in the trailer cable to the Green input wire to the PulseBusta MK4 and solder together.
Connect the brake light wire in the trailer cable to the Red input wire to the PulseBusta MK4 and solder together.
Connect the tail/licence plate wire from the trailer to the Brown input wire to the PulseBusta MK4 and solder together.
You are left with two unconnected wires that go straight through the PulseBusta MK4 – Black and Blue.  If you do not need these wires you may cut them back and leave them disconnected.  Otherwise, connect them to the remaining wires in your trailer cable for whatever uses they will have.

You will need a PulseBusta MK4 and:

    Various hand and power tools, a test light, soldering iron and solder
Fixings to mount the PulseBusta and for attaching the cable to the trailer – self-taping screws, screws, nuts & washers, ‘pop’ rivets, ‘P’ clips etc.   
Electrical insulating tape and water proofing materials – silicone sealant, heatshrink and/or self-amalgamating tape, liquid electrical tape, etc

PulseBusta MK4 is warranted against defects in parts and manufacture for two years from purchase.  All care is taken during manufacture to seal each unit to the IP-68 rating. However, due to the severe operating conditions in which it can be used, it is not warranted against internal or external corrosion, or any damage caused by liquid or dust ingress once it has been put into operation.  It is strongly recommended that you regularly check the assembly for possible liquid and dust entry points (nicks, cuts, abrasions, etc.) and seal any openings with silicone sealant to prevent the ingress of any liquid or dust as entry could eventually work its way along the inside of the cable and corrode the wires and electronics.  Please return PulseBusta MK4 to LAB Electronics for damage assessment and repair, as there are no user serviceable parts inside.

PulseBusta MK4 does not conform to E/ECE/324 – E/ECE/TRANS/505 regulations as it does not monitor the trailer’s turn signal LEDs and is therefore unable to inform the driver if a fault is present by turning off the trailer telltale in the instrument cluster.  The onus is always on the driver to check that all of the vehicle and trailer lighting is functioning correctly.

Any vehicle, (not just those built to the European lighting regulations) can tow a trailer which has a PulseBusta Euro fitted.

PulseBusta Euro is not to be fitted to a towing vehicle, as that vehicle will always (falsely) recognise that a trailer is connected.

PulseBusta Euro is internally connected to the trailer’s LEDs using this wiring colour scheme - yellow (left turn), green (right turn), red (brake light), brown (right park/license light), black (left park/license light), blue (ignition on power) and white (earth) wires.  The blue wire requires ignition on power to operate the monitoring circuits for the turn signal LEDs.  Each of the LED driver circuits is capable of driving up to 4 amps of LED current.  Do not connect any lamps (light bulbs) to the LED driver circuits on the trailer.  Print the plug and socket wiring page at the end.  Identify the uses and colours of the wires on your trailer and write them down on the plug and socket wiring page.

Connect the brake light wire in the trailer cable to the Red output wire from the PulseBusta Euro and solder together.
Connect the right tail/licence plate wire from the trailer to the Brown output wire from the PulseBusta Euro and solder together.
Connect the left tail/licence plate wire from the trailer to the Black output wire from the PulseBusta Euro and solder together.
Connect the ignition on wire from the trailer to the Blue output wire from the PulseBusta Euro and solder together

To the vehicle end of the PulseBusta Euro – If you are adding a new cable from the vehicle you will have to fit a trailer plug to the vehicle end of the new cable.

Connect the earth wire in the vehicle cable to the White wire to the PulseBusta Euro and solder together. 
Connect the left turn signal wire in the vehicle cable to the Yellow input wire to the PulseBusta Euro and solder together.
Connect the right turn signal wire in the vehicle cable to the Green input wire to the PulseBusta Euro and solder together.
Connect the brake light wire in the vehicle cable to the Red input wire to the PulseBusta Euro and solder together.
Connect the right tail/licence plate wire from the vehicle to the Brown input wire to the PulseBusta Euro and solder together.
Connect the left tail/licence plate wire from the vehicle to the Black input wire to the PulseBusta Euro and solder together.
Connect the ignition on wire from the vehicle to the Blue wire to the PulseBusta Euro and solder together.

 

Busta Euro - Fitting Instructions for internal 'trailer mounting'

Any vehicle (not just those built to the European lighting regulations) can tow a trailer which has a PulseBusta Euro fitted.

PulseBusta Euro is not to be fitted to a towing vehicle, as that vehicle will always recognise (falsely) that a trailer is connected.

Carefully read the instructions all the way through.  If you feel that you are unable to perform any of the operations, please seek the help of someone who can.  Refer to the ‘You will need’ list near the end and gather all the tools and materials to complete the installation before you proceed.

PulseBusta Euro is internally connected to the trailer’s LEDs using this wiring colour scheme - yellow (left turn), green (right turn), red (brake light), brown (right park/license light), black (left park/license light), blue (ignition on power) and white (earth) wires.  The blue wire requires ignition on power to operate the monitoring circuits for the turn signal LEDs.  Each of the LED driver circuits is capable of driving up to 4 amps of LED current.  Do not connect any lamps (light bulbs) to the LED driver circuits on the trailer.  Print the plug and socket wiring page at the end.  Identify the uses and colours of the wires on your trailer and write them down on the plug and socket wiring page.  You may choose your connection method i.e. to solder the individual wires together, fit them into terminal blocks, crimp insulated terminals to the wires or crimp un-insulated terminals to the wires and fit them into plugs and sockets.

Disconnect the trailer from the vehicle and isolate any power sources in the trailer.

PulseBusta Euro can get very HOT when in operation.  (Do not restrict ventilation to the PulseBusta nor mount it on plastic or any other heat sensitive materials) Select a location to mount the PulseBusta Euro with adequate ventilation, i.e. a large space under a bench seat, in the trailer electrical box or a similar uncluttered space.   

To the trailer LEDs - Fit the PulseBusta Euro in the selected location and prepare to connect the lighting cable up to the trailer end of the PulseBusta Euro

Connect the earth wire in the trailer cable to the White wire from the PulseBusta Euro and terminate. 
Connect the left turn signal wire in the trailer cable to the Yellow output wire from the PulseBusta Euro and terminate.
Connect the right turn signal wire in the trailer cable to the Green output wire from the PulseBusta Euro and terminate.
Connect the brake light wire in the trailer cable to the Red output wire from the PulseBusta Euro and terminate.
Connect the right tail/licence plate wire from the trailer to the Brown output wire from the PulseBusta Euro and terminate.
Connect the left tail/licence plate wire from the trailer to the Black output wire from the PulseBusta Euro and terminate.
Connect the ignition on wire from the trailer to the Blue output wire from the PulseBusta Euro and terminate

To the vehicle end of the PulseBusta Euro - Connect the lighting cable going to the vehicle plug end of the cable. 

Connect the earth wire in the vehicle cable to the White wire to the PulseBusta Euro and terminate. 
Connect the left turn signal wire in the vehicle cable to the Yellow input wire to the PulseBusta Euro and terminate.
Connect the right turn signal wire in the vehicle cable to the Green input wire to the PulseBusta Euro and terminate.
Connect the brake light wire in the vehicle cable to the Red input wire to the PulseBusta Euro and terminate.
Connect the right tail/licence plate wire from the vehicle to the Brown input wire to the PulseBusta Euro and terminate.
Connect the left tail/licence plate wire from the vehicle to the Black input wire to the PulseBusta Euro and terminate.
Connect the ignition on wire from the vehicle to the Blue wire to the PulseBusta Euro and terminate.

 

Testing the operation of the trailer LEDs

 

For testing the operation of the LEDs, move all the bare soldered connections apart and into positions where they do not contact each other or any metal parts of the trailer.  Reconnect any power sources in the trailer.  With the vehicle ignition and lights switched off, connect the trailer to the vehicle.  Switch the ignition on and check that any trailer LEDs that were previously blinking have stopped and the trailer telltale does now operate with the turn and hazard signals.  Start the engine, switch the park lights on and operate the foot brake to check the operation of those LEDs and check that there are no lamp failure warnings.  Refer to last page if there are.  When all trailer LEDs are working correctly switch everything off and separately insulate the bare solder connections. 

Insulate and seal the joins.

It is strongly recommended, to prevent liquid and dust entry into the cable ends, a small amount of silicone sealant be applied to all of the open ends of the cable outer sheaths.  Push the sealant into the ends around the wires using a small screwdriver (or similar tool).  It is also recommended that something be placed over the joins to completely seal and insulate them.  Check that, where required, the cable is securely attached to the trailer.

Operational note

Always connect and disconnect the trailer with the vehicle’s ignition and lights switched off.  Connecting or disconnecting the trailer with the vehicle’s ignition and/or lights switched on can cause malfunctions to be indicated, or unintended operation by some of the vehicle’s computer systems.   

 

You will need a PulseBusta Euro and:

    Various hand and power tools, a test light, soldering iron and solder

    Fixings to mount the PulseBusta and for attaching the cable to the trailer – self-taping screws, screws, nuts & washers, ‘pop’ rivets, ‘P’ clips etc. Terminal blocks, insulated terminals or plugs and sockets with crimp terminals.  

Electrical insulating tape, silicone sealant, heatshrink and/or self-amalgamating tape, liquid electrical tape, etc.

PulseBusta Euro is warranted against defects in parts and manufacture for two years from purchase.  All care is taken during manufacture to seal each unit to the IP-68 rating.  However due to the severe operating conditions in which it can be used, it is not warranted against internal or external corrosion or, any damage caused by liquid or dust ingress once it has been put into operation.  It is strongly recommended that you regularly check the assembly for possible liquid and dust entry points (nicks, cuts, abrasions, etc.) and seal any openings with silicone sealant to prevent the ingress of any liquid or dust as entry could eventually work its way along the inside of the cable and corrode the wires and electronics.  Please return PulseBusta Euro to LAB Electronics for damage assessment and repair, as there are no user serviceable parts inside.

 PulseBusta Euro does not conform to E/ECE/324 – E/ECE/TRANS/505 regulations as it does not monitor the trailer’s turn signal LEDs and is therefore unable to inform the driver if a fault is present by turning off the trailer telltale in the instrument cluster.  The onus is always on the driver to check that all of the vehicle and trailer lighting is functioning correctly.  

Busta Euro - Connector Fitting Instructions to make an ‘in-line adaptor’

The PulseBusta Euro is designed for use by all 12 volt negative earth towing vehicles (known to LAB Electronics at the time of writing) that have been built to European lighting regulations and are towing trailers which have two tail/licence plate lighting circuits and require monitoring of the trailer’s turn signal LEDs.  It will provide the vehicle with trailer recognition and when required, stop the trailer’s park, brake and turn signal LEDs from blinking.

PulseBusta Euro is not to be fitted to the towing vehicle, as that vehicle will always (falsely) recognise that a trailer is connected.

PulseBusta Euro has a 600mm long (2ft) 7-core cable rated at 10 amps per wire.  It is supplied without trailer connectors so please obtain the type of trailer connectors that you need to make PulseBusta Euro it into an in-line adaptor.  Locally obtained connectors may have different uses and different wire colours indicated for their individual terminals.  When there is a conflict with the PulseBusta Euro wiring, follow the suggestions for the use of the connector terminals, as it will make troubleshooting any faults, at a later time, much easier.  Copy the plug and socket wiring page at the end.  Identify the uses and colours of the wires on your trailer and write them down in the space provided on the plug and socket wiring page. 

PulseBusta Euro is internally connected to the trailer’s LEDs using this wiring colour scheme - yellow (left turn), green (right turn), red (brake light), brown (right park and license plate light), black (left park and license plate light), blue (ignition on power) and white (earth) wires.  The blue wire requires ignition on power to operate the monitoring circuits for the turn signal LEDs.  If you are using a 13-pin European trailer plug, you can connect the blue wire to pin #10.  If you are using the two large 7 pin round connectors you will have to connect the blue wire to Pin #6 on the socket with the white cover or rewire the vehicle to put the ignition on circuit in the large 7 pin round with the black cover.  Each of the LED driver circuits is capable of driving up to 4 amps of LED current.  Do not connect any lamps (light bulbs) to the LED driver circuits on the trailer.  The labels on PulseBusta Euro are marked VEHICLE on one end and TRAILER on the other end.  The plug that fits into the socket on your vehicle goes on the cable from the VEHICLE end and the socket that fits the plug on your trailer goes on the cable from the TRAILER end.  Following the fitting instructions and the “use” information for your chosen connectors fit them to the PulseBusta Euro cable ends.  At the connection points you will need to remove from both cable ends the minimum amount of outer sheath that is required to make all of the wiring connections.
